An excellent piece . Let us hope that the public interest remains strong enough to eject the degenerate leadership to which you refer and supports the return to your well defined purposes . To read 2 articles in one day , one talking of the suggested GBP 100 million reparation payments and the other saying how Englands great cathedrals are collapsing , shows how the Church’s management is totally lost . It must return , as you rightly say , to RNLI standards .
Very insightful Daniel. The C of E does seem to be drifting into the ecclesiastical wing of the Labour Party, at least here. A new Archbishop should have the confidence to simply centre Christ and call the nation to return to the faith! In an increasingly virtual age the physicality and bodily nature of Christianity could also be a strong draw for many in gen Z.
